Sounds exactly like what happened to my car. Maybe we can be timing belt freinds...if that's the problem :bounce: :fworld:

Of course it has nothing to do with their work, cause then they would have to pay for it.
One could ask to see the old parts, to make sure the work in real.

Yea, Im positive from your description that it was the Tbelt, unless you got rod knock but I doubt that...

Ask them how the tension was on the belt.. Im sure they will lie but whatever...

If your pistons have dings on them from the valves its definetly a Tbelt job not rods or whatever they say.

If the pistons have no marks from anything then I dont know what happend.

BTW, in my above post, it was not Rick Shindley that screwed up the job. Just want to make that clear.

How much oil did you burn off when the turbo blew?

ding ding ding!!!!! All of it! Fucker was dry. Tom Mitsu is fucked if you dont' give in. They either fucked up the T-Belt install or they are liable due to the reslut of oil loss from your turbo, which was a recent approved "covered under warrenty" problem for ya.

I have ran a car for a few min with no Oil before. Ran fine just like yours for 10-20 miles and then the knock set in. Louder, then Louder, then Louder, then BOOM mother fucker. Buick off to the Yard and bring on the Taurass! Ohh the High School Memories!

I said 'rod knock' when you called.
Where are my points for calling it?
allan is right, mitsu is liable for covering it, they already warranteed coverage on the turbo, it is the techs job to check the parts in question, as well as the parts that are in the same system that failed. They should of put 2+2 to realize that when a motor/turbo has no oil the turbo dies as well as....
the motor.
Good luck, just make sure you show proper service records for oil changes and so forth.

ok so me and the guys (aj, swanny, nash and jet) decided that by the description that the service writer gave me sounds more like crankwalk. so i guess the myth that autos dont crankwalk is false.
oh well new shortblock for me.

2G's that crankwalk won't (shouldn't) even be able to start-up due to the CAS positioning.
