Looks like the tire was ran really low on pressure? That will make the sidewall heat up and blow out.

They are h rated. It didn't happen when I was exceeding the mph though. Happened about 30 minutes later going ~70 mph. Maybe they weakened or something going over the rating? From what I remember, tire pressure was fine. The day before I checked them and they looked good.

I'd be contacting the company on that one.
Definitely, I smell some $$$ coming your way...

I dont. He exceeded the tires speed rating. Not that I personally believe that had anything to do whatsoever with it blowing out, the tire company wont do squat, and nor should they unless it can be proven that they made a faulty tire.

people who try to make money with BS lawsuits should choke on it.

I would still say that contacting the company would be worth the time. He may not get anywhere or maybe he could get a free tire out of the deal. I'm not applying a lawsuit or anything to that extent.

I would be suprised if they company does anything. Look at American Racing rims. They are shit. AJ hit a pot hole and both passenger sides broke. We had to buy 2 more. They didn't cover shit because it states in the "warranty" they do not cover road conditions....

I'm sure there is something in the warranty that will allow them not to cover the damage.

But if you do, good for you. Maybe next time buy higher rated tires though if you want to be exceeding them for any period of time.

Its not the companies fault. Its the user's fault. Tires have limits, if you dont obey them you shall lose.

It was a good 30 min after exceeding the rating and the tires weren't low on air pressure. The race was in Hopkins on 169 and it blew out 40 min later after going to jd...'s house in cottage grove. It was fine the rest of the way there and sat at idle for a few minutes when we got the parts. On the way back on 494 just east of mall of america, it went out going around 70-80mph. The tires came with the wheels. I don't really plan on doing anything and didn't post because I was mad. I posted because I thought it was funny that I blew a tire and ended up blowing the spare also. I am planning on going to z rated tires but maybe not until the spring. Now my car looks like a ricer with a rim in the front and a stock wheel on the back of the right side.
