View Full Version : what to do in minneapolis
I used to love Copeland's downtown, but for some reason it and TGI Friday's closed down. Anyone know the scoop on that? All the furniture and stuff is still in there and it had a remodelling sign up for a bit, but that was a few months ago.

That Independance place I went to with Chris and a few others one night seemed nice. Not so much a club, more like a nice place to eat and just kinda lounge around at.
Also I think a couple good date places are Bella in Blaine, or Epic in Eden Prarie (i think). They are just very classy, very nice restaurants. And you can just kind of lounge around there afterwards, and they have music playing, fires burning, just real nice for like a date.

umm.. I like this asian restaurant called Village Wok. I forgot exactly where it is though. Probably the best decent priced asian restaurant I've been to.
They serve a good variety of excellent seafood. And many other stuff too if you dont like seafood.
One dish will probably run you about 15 bucks. Its not bad.
I give that restaurant a TWO THUMBS UP.
village wok is very good, its right off of washington? down by the u.

Village Wok = cheap but good!
Now, if you want to impress said lady friend, take her to Martini Blu in the Grand Hotel on 2nd ave S between 6th st & 7th st. Sit at the sushi bar & ask the chef to make you whatever he wants.

Places ive been downtown for special occasions:
Tiburon- Caribean restaurant near the U of M Law School. Good seafood/steak, giant aquarium.
Firelake Grill House- In the radison downtown. Good midwestern food with reasonable prices.
Atlas Grille- Awesome food, upscale place.
McCormick & Schmick's- Upscale, huge seafood menu, go here if you like seafood.
Mannys- no need to really say, best steak ever. Very expensive.
Then theres cheaper more casual places like:
Rock Bottom Brewery, or Stacatto- cozy place with good prices.

Dying business due to the "thug" life around Block E during the weekends. Sales dropped in key areas and rent for downtown space keeps going up. Expect Chevys and a few others to follow by next year.

There are the riverboats in St. Paul where you eat dinner and cruise up the Mississippi for a couple hours. Good date and 40 bucks a person.
Ride bikes somewhere.
