View Full Version : Really Loud Ticking When Driving

did you change your front cover when you rebuilt your motor?? Beacause i've seen oil pumps with excessive gear lash that make a ticking/clattering noise thats rpm related, you hear it untill WOT, then it goes away because now you have a exteme load on the oil pump and the gears are mashed together instead of floating next to each other.

Would that happen to and old one or a new one? The one I have is a brand new Mitsu one with brand new mitsu gears.

I had a bad tick that sounded like it came from the head and alittle while later im sitting on jackstands replacing the bearings, so i would say park it and get it fixed or its going to cost alot of money

yea my motor is ticking too and i just got the head rebulit two months ago. dont know what it is. i also replace the block, cause it had bad rod bearing.its only tick when the car idle around 1000 and 1500 rpm, but after that it wont tick. it still pull really good, but smoke do come out when i push it. am running a 14b turbo on my 2G. can someone plz tell me what going on with my car? thanks alot.

Does it only do it at start up? Does it go away when warmed up?
