I replaced the turbo a few months ago and it was, by one way or another, ingesting COOLANT... Sorry, I'll stop my rant...

I have a 95 Talon Tsi AWD. I bought this car from a "friend" about six months ago. He had spun the turbo, and that is all I knew. I found a used turbo that I bought and installed. When I started it, it was burning coolant at the rate of about a quarter to a half gallon a minute. I did a leakdown test, it gave all the sighns of having a cracked block and I was 95% sure of it. So I set it aside for spring planting season.

I've finaly had the chance to start tearing things apart, and I find fresh, clean coolant in my upper intake hose. Despite working on the farm for many years and having a basic knowledge of mechanics(about as good as my brother who is a john deere technition), I am completely stumped.

Please help me.

Sounds like a leaky seal in the turbo.

Leaky seal? I didn't think the casting, uness cracked, would allow for coolant to leak...

Well what in the leakdown test showed that it would be a cracked block? Need to know what the tests you did showed and what test you did to help you out more.

Yes, what are the results of the leakdown and where was it leaking from? Also, have you done a coolant system pressure test? If not now would be a good time.

when I did the leakdown test, I heard air coming out the coolant fill hole, and none out the oil filler hole.

When it ran, it would spew acers of white smoke, and after test driving it, there was antifreeze in the oil.

I just broke the seals on the coolant system, I was getting ready to take off my head.

I wish guys, but I can't afford it, that's why I was going to part it out, but now I found this, I thought it may be a different problem than I expected.

Oh, and when I took the sparkplug nearest the trans out, the piston was wet, and that's the cyl. that leaked through the coolant system.

So it sounds like a blown head gasket.
