So I'm headed in to work today, taking a left onto Hennepin off of Washington in downtown Minneapolis. I drive this route almost every day, so I have a pretty good feeling of the timing of the lights I'm going through. I got know I need to book it down Hennepin to make it through the light on 1st St (near the big USPS facility) or be forced to wait at that light for several minutes.
My buddy Paul just moved back from China (China's #1 APR rep!) and he's been staying with me, and helping me out @ work all week. Yesterday was killer, and we're both in a daze today. So, as I go to gun it down Hennepin, I take it easy, maybe 3/4 throttle and back off to 1/4 throttle and let off at about 4800rpms, and then lazily shift into third. My Tial BOV goes *kawoosh!* as it always does, and Paul ERUPTS laughing. There was a woman standing on the side of the road with some sort of iced coffee drink (the ones with the domed top) and as I passed her, I had let off and my uber-BOV had startled her so much that she DROPPED HER DRINK! She's dancing around trying to recover it and I'm still on my way.
I laughed so hard at first, but now I feel kinda bad...like I should have pulled around the block and given her some cash for being such a punk, but...oh well!
