Like some thoughts and opinions... I recently bought this car and the engine seemed to take a crap on me, I dont really care since its a 7 bolt. I'm gonna buy a 6 bolt just a matter 2.4, 2.0, longblock or shortblock. I wanna be around 400-500 whp if not more. Problem is I have no time to build a motor, and was thinking about buying a build one from slowboy or bushur. I know im gonna run a turbo similar to the FP red, and prolly a stage 3 or 4 shep tranny, upgrade the driveline and axles. Any thing else you guys can think of lmk...this is not gonna be street friendly I assume. Oh and I forgot fuel and engine management also DSM LINK or AEM EMS Im not gonna play around with injectors either 1600cc all the way

I wouldn't go with slowboy. Many people have had bad experiences with them. You could reach your goals on a stock 6 bolt if you wanted to save some money. Why would you want 1600's if you wouldn't need them? You shouldn't be anywhere close to needing them between 400 and 500 whp. I have seen 420 out of 550's. There is no point in running them just because you can. 2.4, 2.3, or 2.0 all depend on what you want out of the car (quicker spool or highter rpms).

As to why you would buy an engine from Slowboy is beyond me. If you don't want to go with one of the site sponsors, go with Engintecs.

I hear LSE builds a mean motor, might want to talk to them! They're local and good guys to work with!

Otherwise, bypass that slowboy idea and hit up buschur.

Then again, a stock 6-bolt might be up your alley too...cheap and reliable.

well to answer some feed back 1600cc just cause you can control them and never have to upgrade again and I wasnt going with slowboy just threw it out there. I guess my goal is to make a 1/4 mile car 11s would prolly be good Ill look into the six bolt how much would have to be changed internally to run 30 psi... Ill hit up LSE before I do anything or talk to Shane.

Oh and 98GST 14b install are you doing it this weekend??? cause I dont think I will be around lmk

11's can be done with a stock motor and a turbo smaller than the FP red. A t-25 ran a 11.14. It all depends on your setup.

A t-25 ran a 11.14..
yeah with nitrus, wide open wg, and a fully built motor. And that was the turbos last pass.

You could also try magnus / RRE if you don't plan to go local.

For a fun street car go 2.3 or 2.4, you won't regret it.
