I am looking to get rid of all my vacuum hoses and stuff that doesnt belong under the hood like the emissions crap. Does anyone know any links to "how to" remove all the lines and canisters and have everything still work?

I looked for a while but didnt find anything.

Also I am going to be blocking off my EGR valve and I was wondering why you cant just put a plate there with 2 bolts right into the block or intake manifold. Or is that what your supposed to do. I thought that you just have to put the plate in between the valve and the block.

I would think you could just take it out and out just the plate and 2 bolts.

Any info would be great. And if anyone wants to help me with removal of all that emmisions crap that would be awesome :) But it is a PITA so Im not expecting anyone to jump.

Thanks,
Peter

Never seen that page before, that diagram is deffinately a good starting-point. Speaking of which, Joe order me a new block-off plate!

Thanks Nash. That will help alot. So about the EGR though, does it have to be put back on or can I just mount the plate and leave the valve off?

You can leave it off, but you need something to block it off with.

just take that EGR gasket, trace the shape on some sheet metal, cut out the sheet metal, buy some bolts that are the same thread, just a shorter length, and attach the block off plate with those bolts. You keep the EGR off, u do not put it back on the car. if i had a camera id show you a picture of mine, but i don't. sorry. i think if you go to www.myzero.com they have a lil example of how to make an EGR block off

Dejon and a lot of other vendors make and sell the plate/bolt combos...I know Mike has even made some before.

You forgot to include year, make, model, mods, and engine size in the original post. This is what you always give people shit for.

Judging by your 1/4 times it is the 1.8 n/a motor right??? J/K
