The motor is the current on in my GSX and i wanna swap it into my 93 Dodge Colt to make the ultimate 4 door sleeper... My questions are these what is need to do the swap??? From my understanding and the little research I did I just have to modifiy the right main motor mount ( if your facing the motor) other than that its just a direct swap??? Can I use the the wireharnesses and just run the current ecu that came with the motor? Is supsention in the front gonna be an issue? Can I use the cv shafts from a GST? Ialso need a tranny or will the AWD tranny work that I just had rebuilt? Let me know what ya think or a forum, if there is one that I could float around in a find out some more information. Thanks in advance

Nick

I don't think you would want to use an awd tranny unless you plan on makig it awd. Why would you use your 7 bolt? If you want to make the "ultimate" sleeper, you whould probably do a 6 bolt if you plan on making power. I planned on doing a colt project but am not goig to do it yet. Everything you need to know about the swap should be on the site above.

NickI hope you have money. This swap is expensive. We did a swap in a 89 colt GT and it ran us close to 4k not including the car.
To answer some of your question. You will need a harness from a turbo car I don't know if it has to be a 1990 like 89 colts. You will need an ecu from a turbo car because you need the fuel map. I believe you can use the 5 speed tranny from a colt but you need to change the flywheel to an FWD fly wheel off an turbo car. As the motor goes you want to use a 1G motor and not a 2g motor. Has to do with the way it mounts. Go to 4g61t and they can answer all your questions. Wish you the best of luck. The best way to do this swap is to buy a car that already have the swap done.

Nick also check with PJ he has the colt with the swap.

I would think you could buy a POS 90 turbo car and swap just about everything over. 4K is a lot.

Yes you can buy a POS 90 turbo car and swap it over but now you have a POS colt. The thing is that when you swap things out you are going to need to replace small things here and there and it adds up quick. Yes, 4k is alot that is why not many people are doing this swap. Sleepers are great but no one wants to take you seriously. If you get a race in they will just laugh at you and said that they were not ready or that there car was running bad. Trust me on this. Heck nick just keep your car get a bigger turbo and beat the piss out of most of the cars around here. Everyone knows that most 2G are slow. So, there you go you have a perfect chick, sleeper and go car.

Nick: I will forward you a web site that will give you more information about the swap for your model. The 4g61T web site is mostly for 89-92 hatches.

Yeah, this project looks neat because he has a 1993 Colt 4 door ;)

Can you post the link for it on this thread?

Does the 93 colt have 7-bolt style or 6-bolt style motor mounts?
