The book and this movie just plays on the possibilities making it a good fictional mystery.
The church should only be protesting if they have something to hide, so do they?

This movie was pretty cool.
The only thing i don't get, was why would the grandmaster and a bunch of the other old farts wearing masks, watching Two People having sex.

you stated you did not understand part of it, and i'm telling you how to clarify your muddled little mind.
the movie does not explain what you saw, but the book does. so get off your lazy ass and turn some pages!

This is the first fictional book I've read in twenty years. It was so good that I've read all Dan's other books as well. I thought Angels and Demons was better, the movie is probably being made as we type.:D
I wouldn't say the "church" is in an uproar, in fact, both my home church and the one I played at in Brainerd this weekend both had sermons on the DaVinci Code and neither spoke of it in a negative light, just pointed out the mistruths the movie communicates. I'll admit I was a bit swayed by the book because it weaves a lot of supposed history into a nice story. Truth is that almost everything in the book is a take on actual history or a blatant misdirection. After reading some other books which quote actual history with plenty of historical references from other published works, the Da Vinci Code suddenly seems way more fictional that I first believed. It is very well written though. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it, Tom Hanks and Opie are a great team. ;)

I thought they were going to have a midnight showing of it. I don't know why they didn't. I am glad people are saying here it was a good movie. Lately HollyWood seems like they haven't producing anything good but hopefully this summer should have some good movies.

It deffinately NOT as good as the book. Some of the characters didn't have the right people playing them, and all in all, the movie just didn't give me the same feeling the book did. I did like it, and will say it was worth my $5 but I would rather read the book.

The film company didn't allow for a midnight showing. I don't know their reasoning for it, but I talked to the manager ( my old boss 3 years ago) and that's what he told me. Due to that, there was like NO ONE at the midnight movie at lakeville this past Thursday. Sucks for them. BTW - That stupid over the hedge movie sucked! That's what I got stuck seeing since davinci code wasn't allowed to show.

I missed church this last week but I read the bulletin and it was all about mangdelin or however you spell it and how jesus never married etc. Basically it was all about their view against the davinci code. It's a simple concept. Where is your faith? If you believe Jesus never married and that he was God himself... then that's what you believe no matter what happens or is "proven." If you don't believe this, then you likely never will! So I don't see why people make a big deal over it :P
