Fuck that.
Bigass roots superchargers that stick out of the roof and impede view could never ever ever lose to a lousy little ass turbocharger. Havent any of you idiots seen the fast and the furious? Even the super duper orange supra could only keep up with the roots blowered car. And did you see how that muscle car hardly had any troubles flipping over? Just goes to show you how well built muscle cars were. If that were the supra for sure it would have been totalled. Turbochargers are for pussies. Pussies.
Errm, wrong forum. :)
Agreed 100%, Just look at top fuel Dragsters. They dont allow turbo's cause they produce way to much power.
Kevin
Dont allow or just dont use turbos?
Those superchargers take massive amounts of power to turn. I dont know that you'd ever get a turbo that size spinning on one of those motors. I agree with the superiority of turbos, but you run into a certain size limit dictated by what you can spool without choking the motor. Superchargers dont suffer from that. They provide the power necessary to turn the supercharger early on in the powerband where its needed.

Turbochargers are Banned from the classes.
I read somewhere that they would make in excess of 12,000 horsepower if turbochargers were allowed.

Top fuel is limited to blowers. "Compression ratio is set conservatively at around 6:1, owing to the 54-psi boost of the SSI 14-71 supercharger, which is overdriven nearly 30 percent faster than engine speed." I would say the konig has to much power for what they are trying to do on that track. The Zonda with only 600hp ran 2 seconds faster, but in the straight line the konig owns, 195mph on the runway.

You have to remember that tires and downforce are a HUGE consideration when it comes to tracks. The list is sweet, and a good benchmark, but unless all cars have the same tire's on them, its not going to be entirely fair.

i seem to recall hearing they had like a 4:1 Cr and 150psi boost. oh well, one speed tranny for the win.

Well, if the tires on the car are what came on the car from the factory I would say it is plenty fair.
Thats like saying you cant have a fair comparison without having the same brand shocks in each vehicle.

I love how small that car is. Those doors were pretty cool too. Oh yeah, and it was pretty fast ;).
