I have some other ideas too but it takes a few days time of paying atention of how you do things and stuff to figure stuff out. I did this for a friend of mine, and he went from being $35k in cc debt, back to zero in under 2 years time and he only makes about 25k/year..

Did your friend file for bankruptcy? Or do they not pay taxes?
:D
There has to be more to that story then shutting off lights.

Yeah about the lights thing.... I converted over to the 2 watt light bulbs and whatnot. But yeah 8 computers/2 disk arrays in my apt also save a shitload of heating in the winter (I didn't turn on the heat ONCE at all last winter). So it all evens out for me. But on the lights thing when I went over to the 2 watt (I think it's 2 watts) bulbs and paid attention to the lights when I left I did save quite a bit on electricity.
Another thing I did (which I can probably only do at my age) was resorted to eating once a day. I make decent money and whatnot I'm just lazy and cheap as hell. I would rather have computer parts and car parts than food in my stomach. Then again I'm "Crazy Shawn!"
I am however with E with the whole eating downtown thing. I work downtown and spend the exact amount as he stated... sure I only eat once a day but hell it adds up to more than if I ate like a normal person twice-three times a day. So that's something I need to work on.... I just can't say no to Harvey's
Shotgun!

That just can't be done.
Mescaline isn't even addicting.
I have mostly flourescent lights in my house. They cost a bit more at first, but they are only 7 watt bulbs vs. 60 watt. The new ones start up pretty quick compared to the old flourescents (2 seconds or so).

I never shut my computer off which probably isn't the greatest idea, but I use it so much it just doesn't make sense to always be shutting it down and then turning it back on. Anyone have any idea how much it costs to run a typical desktop computer?
Put your computer in stand by. That shuts the drives down and monitor. Thats 90% of the juice it uses. A modern computer comes out of stand by in a few seconds.

I turn off my monitor at night, but my computer won't go on stand-by, there is something wrong with my Windows something-or-other. I am going to reformat and reinstall in the near future.
