Probably a good idea since you were at 99% DC with the 450's.

does your knock sensor still have the insulating goo in it?
not to be a thread whore. But when the insulation is gone on teh knock sensor. that means its toast right? And is there a difference in 90 to 91+ knock sensors.
My knock sensor on my block(out of the car) has no insulation around it.

it SHOULD have insulating goo. the goo acts as a dampner and if its gone the knock sensor gets really really finicky

You should be able to run the 450's & the small 16g no problem. On my old GST, I ran the same exact thing.
