Hey guys, I just wanted to say hi. I'm from Bemidji, I'm a senior in High School and I bought a purple 90 TSI AWD from Steve (goatblower) over spring break. Currently the head is off and on its way to a machine shop. My goals are 12 e/t's by the end of the summer, overall I want to get a <11.5 second 1/4. So far, its basically stock (advertised as stock, but it had a big 16g :D), but by the time it sees the road in June it will have FP2's, ARP headstuds, and an OEM metal headgasket for sure, maybe a 3" turboback and/or a FMIC, and probably a oil pressure guage, boost guage and MBC, and a 5" tach (ricey as hell, but I love them anyway). I've had the account here for quite some time, but I just noticed today that it finally got activated, so thanks for having me!

You need some injectors and some sort of fuel management first! good luck with running 12s by the end of summer. Hope everything goes well.

id recomend walbro 255 (rewire it) and then go with some 860cc's. and dsmlink for sure!

...you don't need 860cc's to run 12's..550 works just fine.

Rather than making recomendations why not ask what setup he'll be running first? If he stays with that Big 16G there is no way he'll need a rewired 255 or 860's.

He's an expert. Just out of curiosity, who sells 860s? PTE, FIC, & RC do not.

Yeah, the big 16g with hopefully take me into the 12's but I'll be setting up for a bigger turbo. I havent quite decided, I still have plenty of time. I thought I put fuel pump and fpr in the list before summer, I must have blanked that. I was planning on the walbro 255 and aeromotive fpr, I know a little overkill for the big 16g, but it'll be necessary later. DSMlink will hopefully be here by July along with 800+ cc injectors. I figured I would get the cheapest injectors over 800cc's. Thanks for the suggestions and the welcomes.

Exactly how much power are you looking to make with those 800+cc injectors? A set of 650/660/680's will carry you into the 11's. Using a properly sized injector for your setup will give you the best spray pattern.

Not sure on how much power I will be aiming for so I figured I would go big so I wont have to replace them later. I'm kinda between a rock and a hard place right now, I have the head off and going to the machine shop tomorrow and its oh so easy to just pull and rebuild the bottom end now. Steve said compression was 150+ before the headgasket went so I was just going to plane the head and put it back. Well, I figured I'd do a vavle job since its out and the machining stuff is starting to rack up. On the stock bottom end I was shooting for at very least 350, probably closer to 375-400+ but I wouldnt shoot for much more than that. If I were to go through the trouble of rebuilding the bottom end I would either go 1g rods/2g pistons or 2.3 stroker. In the case of the 2.0 1g rods and 2g pistons, I'd probably be shooting for more like 450 tops and if I were to go stroker, I'd probably shoot for 500-550 (and a bit better than a 11.5 sec 1/4). Right now, I think I am going to get the head rebuild and put the bitch back on the car without hooking up as much as possible, check the compression, and decide from there.

Welcome! Bemidji is beautiful. My cabin is about 15 min away from there, and I almost went to school there. Good luck with the car!
