They used to be big up at RF, with light mods they could pull you into the 11's.....

Anybody have any comments on Grand Nationals in general?

The ones I have seen have all been autos. I have a friend whose dad has a GNX with a huge turbo and pulls 1.4 60' at rock falls. He also broke it alot and had ran a sub 10 second time with it. Quite a damn cool car if you ask me!

Grand Nationals are awesome cars with great potential. I had the opportunity to buy a friends in high school for 3 grand and I passed it up, now I am kicking myself in the ass. They are not to easy to come by and cost a pretty penny to own one.

EDIT: Yes, the GN only came with an auto.

They're great looking cars on the outside, but the interior is pure Buick, as in boring and uncomfortable. That's a great price on the ebay one, but I bet it goes for over $10K.

Exactly, that auction will probably double in the last hour. That is one hell of a good deal if an 87 goes for less than 10k.

Yeah, all autos. Do you not care for sticks? No jokes about milkduds, either.

Yep, all autos. Steve is right, the interior is the same crappy mid 80's GM as everything else. Really cheap and tend to fall apart. They can make tons of power, but the tranny needs some beefing up.

Are the GNX models a little better as far as interior goes? I rode in one when I was about 13 with my buddy Ryan Spears from Duluth. His grandpa has one of the GNX models that are really rare I guess. Anyway I remember the interior being pretty decent.

you should get a crown victoria from '85 with a 305 mustang engine in it and put a turbo on that! you'd get more looks, and you could still run a 15!
