Not even 4 days later... and after a lot of bitching and moaning. I was in the market again to find a new car. Last night I found a 1996 VR4 Red with a 99 wing on the back... a few hours after it was posted.

I test drove it tonight, and it had a few things wrong with it cosmetically.... nothing too horrible. Other than that it's in perfect shape.

Then I take it out for a test drive. I test drive it from south minneapolis to EP. This is where the problem begins. At WOT 4500RPMs+ in 3rd+ the stock turbo gauge reads 14+ PSI and it starts to miss. Not sure if it was pulling timing due to knock or if it was fuel cut or what. If the compression test checks out tomorrow you guys think it's a fairly easy thing to fix?

Let me know.

Plugs, wires, and a boost leak check will be a great place to start; I suppose it could possibly be leaky ECU caps like your other friend suggested.

Does it have a boost controler? 3/S n00bs are great at turning the boost way up. This is about what it does in that case.

Yeah it's a stock 99 wing. My reaction was the same when I first saw it but it's grown on me. :D

Sex on wheels son! It is a very aggressive rear wing, but since its OEM it passes the ricer test ;) Now you just need the '99 front to match!

I'd have that wing on ebay in less than twenty minutes. The start of Mitsu's styling blunders.
