So my headlights decided to just stop working. High beam works, fogs work, all other lights work. Checked all fuses.. nothing. Checked bulbs.. still good. Only thing I can think of is the ground for my boost gauge that is grounded to the chasis near the fuse box under the steering column, but I checked the connection and it's tight. The car has been like this for two years and I haven't done anything electical related for 1 year. When I turn the headlight switch on, only the fogs work. Any ideas? Please help.. I don't like using my fogs as my headlights :(

My Sylvania Silverstar bulbs melted.. and melted part of the actual harness.

How the hell did that happen, is your alternator over charging or something?

I have no idea.. and I can't figure it out. The actual glass of the bulb didn't melt but the filament or w/e on the inside was.. quite strange and the silver coating on the tips like melted and smeared it self everywhere. And I don't have any diagnostic equipment either. I should be able to take it to checkers and get the alternator checked, right?

Yeah you can take it there to get it tested but it probably won't show up bad unless you take it off and put it on their alt. tester if it's the voltage regulator that's bad. Be careful while driving and watch the lights inside your car to see if they get brighter than usual when the rpm gets up over 2k or 2500.
