Logger Cable for laptop

I need a logger cable to use with my laptop. I want to try out a few different types of software floating around the net out there. I know there is alot of discussion on palm cables. I already have the cable I use with my palm. Does anyone know if that is able to be made to work with my laptop? Or if anyone locally is still putting the cables together?

Any of the passive cables that you find on ebay can be used for either palm or PC by switching pins 2 and 3, and switching the gender on the cable end. Otherwise known as a null-modem adapter.
