I told him I'd look at it. He could have a bent bracket causing the belt to be slightly slanted. Either that or it's not tight enough. Shoop bring your car to my work.

the alternator was changed like 3 times. I'm not sure if anyone thought to replace the belt. It's a 10 dollar part.

the belt was replaced at the same time the alt.'s were replaced... thought you didnt have metric tools at your work, take that oil cooler off yet??

It could be the bearings in the alternator itself. I've had that happen on my car last year. Just a thought. I would recommend replacing the belt and setting the right tension first though.

unless the tension was too much before, and they got messed up... but i doubt that.

Well the one I took off of my car was from Autozone I believe and it was only a year old when the bearings went out. Bought one from Advance Auto and that one lasted about 8 months and the voltage regulator went out. Guess I just have back luck with alternators. So I guess what I'm saying is that it is possible you were sold a defective one.
