Ok i want to clean the trany and let it stay nice and clean..

So since it is out of the car i want to make sure it stays nice and clean
should i paint it or something?

I know it has fins for cooling if i paint it will that affect its cooling?

Since the car is black i would most likely pain the trany with the fastest color known to man... blue.....

j/k j/k

If anything i would just spray it with clear coat
but if you guys sugest to just keep it factory color since it stands out more and if any oil /fluids gets on it it is easier to see where its coming from etc etc..

Cover the shaft openings and sand/ bead blast it. Once thats done it would probably take clear. I'm not sure I've never sprayed strait clear on aluminum. I have seen them chromed though, chrome is easy to get stuff off of.
