I'm driving.... about 45 minutes ago... to take pictures of what my new rims look like on my car. Some 16 year old bitch decides to pull out in front of me. I think about swerving... but her whole car takes up the road... nothing I could do. I can't even express to you what I'm feeling right now... I feel like beating the shit out of someone/something and screaming at the same time.

I knew instantly what had happened, I put my e-brake on... however my reaction was interesting. I got out and started screaming MY FUCKING CAR WHAT DID YOU FUCKING DO!?!? before making sure she was ok... and she kind of lost it and started crying. It clicked then and I made sure she was ok and told her was just a material object and at least we were all ok. But inside I wanted to take my tire iron to her for taking away my favorite thing in the fucking world. FUCK!

Definitely not cool.

Isn't it generally a safe assumption that an insurance company will total a vehicle simply because of air bag deployment?

Isn't it generally a safe assumption that an insurance company will total a vehicle simply because of air bag deployment? Not always. If the reapir cost get close to or exceed 75% of the vehicle's value, they will total it.

Most of the time the vehicle gets repaired.

Have your car go through a flood where water reaches center console or dash level will get you totalled 99% of the time.

It does suck about the accident though. But the car definately looks repairable.

Its not as bad as I thought when you first told me, definitely sucks though! Your suspension looks to be unharmed which is a good thing, I bet it can be fixed.

For what its worth the rims look good.

What year is it? Both bags deployed, probably a new core support, hood fenders, bumper(support, and cover), and paint it will probably be totaled.

Sucks man, let us know how it turns out. Atleast you are both ok.

It's a 98 GSX. I'm looking here and I hope it's not totalled. I fucking owe 8500 dollars on the loan still. And it looks like the suggested private party price on the mileage (76,000 miles) in "Good" condition is 7,135. And I'm assuming they're probably gonna do trade in value which is less, but can't remember. Man this day keeps getting worse and worse.

Holy shit, that sucks, especially if the insurance company does what you just described. I feel for ya man!
