Yeah but a lot of times their track is shittier than most city streets.

are you guys going to meet somewhere before you guys go? I'm goin with my brother in a 1996 Honda Accord EX. Hope to meet ya guys there. 47 degrees on that day too...thats plenty cold...
Hmmm, I am going to try and start the car tonight. I might try and make it out, but the track is going to suck probably. I'll have to see if I can get it tuned yet this week.

Poor track Prep = Better chance of NOT breaking something (sometimes) :D
Yeah, it is pretty pointless for us higher HP guys that will spin all the way through 2nd gear though. If the car is tuned I will go just to shake off some rust, but I won't be expecting anything decent for times.

I just bought some new stuff so my car will be down for a little bit, but I've got a new toy I'm picking up on Friday. Won't be able to make it for this Sunday, but with a little tuning, I shouldn't have too much problem getting thrown out of RF with my new ride. :D

In defense of RockFalls. They put down as much (or more) track prep as any other NHRA sanctioned track. The problem is the 300+ street tire cars that come and rip up the vht. (This includes the AWD guys with street tires). Some things I've talked to Jennifer about:
1)Slicks only lane. This would provide serious traction for those with slicks. The problem is that maybe 2% of the entire population uses slicks currently.
2)AWD/RWD and FWD lanes. This would be very hard to facilitate. The split still isn't near 50%.
I would say, if you need to see serious bite, go there on a test and tune day. I've seen some of "our" best 60' times at Rockfalls, including my 1.70x 60' (on a 3 bolt) many moons ago.
p.s. I'll still know wednesday/thursdayish if the stealth is going. If it does, expect 1 of 3 things.
1)We finished it Sunday morning and we are there to show the car and eat food.
2)We finished it Saturday morning and it has a rough tune. I'll probably make a few exibition passes.
3)We finished it friday night and it makes good power. I probably won't hook below 100mph. (This is still the goal!)
Either way, I hope we can meet 1 of the 3 above goals.
I can talk to Jennifer (track manager) about setting up a DSM shootout. The only problem would be the turnout required. I would like to see it as a big event. We could even turn it into an all Mitsu shootout.

RockFalls is junk, and always will be junk, but it's entertainment. I remember asking the guy to spray some down and squirted to tiny spots. Thanks for nothing.

Yeah....I'm sure my center diff loved the times I launched with my rear tires in puddles made by FWD's driving through the water box.
I am with Cher on this one. I have hooked decent on a rare occasion at RF (one slow fun day was great), but nothing like Cedar Falls. Cedar Falls does use more VHT too and it goes much farther down the track, not just the first 60'.
Anyway, who else is going to go? Maybe I will take the bike over if the talon doesn't make it. I can warm up the rear tire and burn it off before I put new rubber on for the year :D
