What did your non-wheel hop setup run 1/4? (16g and FMIC)
Oh nice you edited to you post to include this. The answer is "a whole bunch of 14's at 109" or something like that. To be perfectly honest though, I really don't much care for 1/4 racing my car, doubt I ever even will again to tell you the truth. I am not going to lie...FWD sucks ass for 1/4 mile racing and I will be the first to admit that. If I really wanted a 1/4 beast I would buy an AWD car. I am more interested in a fast street car that handles like its on rails. If you ever wanna run 'em from a roll, or in the twisties, let me know so I can get to the ATM first.
OK, if you plan on racing at RF or having this car for 1/4 use at all, go AWD. As Chris said, buy a car you want and you will be happy no matter what. It is not easy to run a FWD out of the hole with out spinning the wheels or pussying it off the line. Hell, from what I have heard, JET has problems getting out of the hole with traction in his 1g AWD.
I'll let ya know when I am ready Chris.

What John said it correct...if all you care about it blistering 1/4 mile times get an AWD. I know I am on the losing side of this battle, but I still love me some good ol' fashioned FWD.

I'll take you on in the twisties Chris.....That dirt twisties that is!!!!!!
Don't forget that if he wants to get into rallycross type driving (autocrossing on dirt) an AWD is far superior to a FWD unless you are a very experienced rally driver (i.e. like Mark Utecht and others).
Look at the original topic and you will know what he plans to use the car for... Doesn't say anything about rallying.

Just giving him another option if he were to purchase an AWD. Alot of people are unaware of how much fun it is to slide sideways in the dirt, legally. And win trophies for doing it.
I understand he wants to run 1/4 mile. I did when i first got my AWD but I haven't been to a 1/4 track for 2 years now and couldn't be happier. I find much more excitement drifting sideways in the dirt.
Disclaimer---No disrespect for those that run 1/4 mile. I have nothin but respect for those that actually make real power and fast passes.
Sorry for OT- I would love to rally but I do not have the funds or time to support such a hobby. I cannot risk totalling my car by trying to take a turn a little too quick and gain the extra .1 second. I do not have the time to drive hours at a time to compete in an event. I think we all can agree it is fun but not for all of us...
