How do I program the garage door opener in my 96 gst? Is the opener in the cars wired to the stock battery or is it run off a seperate lithium battery? Thanks in advance.

Hold down the button you want to use and hold down the garage door opener (for the door you're wanting to open) at the same time for about a minute. If I remember correctly, it starts to flash once it has the new signal programmed in.

Not sure about the power, though, I'd think it's wired. I have the owner's manual for mine @ home, I can check for ya if you can't figure it out.

Are those the buttons on the driver side sun visor?

Thanks, I will have to look furthur into it. I have a opener that switches codes everytime you push the button. So I cannot program it that way. Apparently some openers you can program with the smart button (program button on the opener) and some you cannot. Hopefully mine can be.
