92 tsi awd 5spd
I just installed a '91 GVR4 tranny. Before I put it on the car, I put on new axel seals (and yes they're on correctly).
The car has a tranny fluid leak coming from the passenger side axel. I installed it correctly, it snapped into place and wouldn't pull out. When I tried to remove it, it easily moved 1/2 inch out with just my hand. It wouldnt come out any further as if the c clip on the axel was still where it needs to be (locked into place). Is there any differences in the GVR4 axels ? To me it seems like the c clip/groove needs to be closer to the passanger wheel on my axel and it would be perfect.
Any ideas? or am I just installing this wrong? Maybe the c clip is worn? I looked at my old tranny, and it appears that both places where the axel go are the same.
Thanks everyone, I'm really excited to get this thing back on the road!
