So my Soc teacher and other members of my school's faculty are putting together a team to go up and run the Grandma's Marathon this summer. I'm thinking about running the half marathon, since I haven't ran much since high school. Basically the deal is they have reserved spots for X amount of people to run in the marathon and half marathon, all we have to do is get a team together. I'm not sure but I think other people from outside the school can join the team, so if by chance anyone else is interested let me know.

Also, I'm thinking about doing the breast cancer three day. But I have to raise $2,200 to participate or I can donate $90 and be a crew member. Whether I can raise enough to walk or just enough to be a crew member, I would really like to do this.

How long is the half marathon?

13 Miles. I don't think you have to actually run the whole thing though I think you can walk some.

Damn, you can pay to run these days? Boy have I been doing it wrong all this time.

Yeah yeah, good cause and whatnot. Try not to be too offended. But seriously, cant you show your support without using your wallet?

Yeah, you can spectate, and there are some volunteer positions. My mom volunteers at the Susan G Komen race for the cure every year. She helps with registration, and gets lunch everyday she works, I think.

My sister did one of these races last year and raised $3000 I think, and there was a minimum, which kind of makes me mad. Its like, "Oh, you only got $800, no thanks" but whatever, they do so much good for so many people that it is pretty hard to complain.

I wish i could raise money for myself by running. I'd be the Micheal Johnson of running.

Haha, to be honest when I saw how much I had to raise I was a little discouraged. Mostly for the fact that it's going to be really hard to raise that money.I'd still do it though. One of my best friend's mom died from breast cancer. I wouldn't mind just helping out though if I can't raise all 2k
